From: Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA Posted 14 Aug 2016 4:52 pm I'm trying to figure out why there is a different sequences in these serial numbers on two Nashville 400 amps. One has a beginning prefix of 9A and on the plate has 89A which I assume is a 1989 model? The other has no prefix at all. Only the serial number. Any idea how to determine the year model?
From previous posts I'm able to ascertain that only serial numbers after 085xxxxx have the factory installed mod kits. Both have black corners. Please feel free to educate me! Thanks, Dave. From: Louisville Ky Posted 14 Aug 2016 7:27 pm From a recent post.
Maybe some help. Jerry Overstreet wrote: yeah, '84. By '94, chrome hardware had long been history. I don't know what years they made the transition, but I bought 2 brand new NV400's in 1990, mfg. In 1989 with black powder coat hdwe. Serial number prefix 9A followed by 8 digits.
Here's some info from the Peavey forum re: serial #'s. And in another post from Mike Brown: This serial number and later had Peavey mod installed at factory which began in mid 1999 according to Peavey's '31 yrs' paper in their support documents. Mike Brown wrote: Oh yes, this kit is for those amplifiers that were shipped prior to s/n08575482.
The amp in David's first photo doesn't show a prefix, but I'm guessing as near as possible from the data in that serial number link, it's likely a '97. I would also venture a guess that Scott's is a '95.

Finishes other than natural are worth more also worth more with a rosewood fretboard. In the 1970's $300 bucks was like a $600 guitar today. : Hi, I just purchased a peavey T60 from a friend I play music with. I too would love to find out it's real worth.
It was manufactured in 82. I love playing it, It really plays and sounds great. Can you tell me if you ever found a source for a price list. Thank you, mike: I pulled my old Peavey T-60 out of the basement.have never played it much.

Click to expand. If you can tell by the picture im playing one in my profile pic. I used it as a back up guitar and it wasn't bad I really liked the neck on the one i used and the pickups and overall tone of the guitar wasn't bad. It also had nice tuners. Never used the tremelo, but it stayed in tune really well. Looks like some places are selling them online for around 350.
For a MIA guitar 99 bucks isn't bad and if you don't like it I'm sure you could get rid of it and maybe get some $ on the return. I bought a new one about 20 years ago - I think it cost $200 or $250 at the time. A friend of mine still has it, and if you can get it for $99, it's a good deal.
I liked it a lot: great neck, very comfy to play, small body, nice pickups. Before I bought it, I tried every guitar of every brand I could find that cost $400 or less, and I ended up with the Peavey. Keep in mind the fact that inexpensive guitars today are generally of much higher quality than they were in the early '80s. The Peavey blew away most of the cheap imports of the time. There are a couple of different models of Patriot.
The earlier ones have the Super Ferrite pickups of which you speak. I've never had one of those, but in defense of the Super Ferrite pickups, a little adjustment goes a long way. Those pickups are very wide range. I've had a few guitars with 'em and, if adjusted right can give you a wide variety of tones. The later model has one humbucker. That's the model I have.
I'm not overly fond of it, but that's more down to the neck than anything else. One thing for sure, if you buy it and don't like it, you'll probably get your money back on the resell. Looks like this thread has been resurrected a few times.
Hope you don't mind one more. I'm a guy in his 40s finally wanting to learn to play what I should have stuck with as a kid. Other than the vague memory of a few chords.
I'm a beginner. As such, I don't have much to drive my decision on gear other than what appeals to my eye and what value I can derive from other's reviews and comments. I want to spend $200ish on the guitar but I can tell that there is a lot of junk down in that price range. I've come across a couple of Peavey Patriots here locally in pawn shops. They are both asking $250, one with case and one without.
Both have 2 pickups. After doing some research I'm thinking this may be a pretty good find to get started on and hold on to. I'd been looking at lower end Agile PRS and LP copies which are Korean and seem to have good reviews. I'd initially thought 'American made' was out of my budget. I now find myself leaning toward these Peaveys or maybe one of the T series. Any thoughts or advice?
I was thinking $250 was a bit on the high side. Also, does anyone know if all the Patriots were built in the US? One of the guitars doesn't have any sign of 'Made in USA' or 'Handcrafted in USA' like every other picture that I've seen. I can try to find out on the Peavey forum if nobody knows.
I've got this black Peavey Dyna Bass but I can't seem to figure out its manufacturing year. From what I understand, these bass guitars have a long history, but to be honest, I don't know too much about them. What year were they discontinued? Are they considered to be an 'entry level' bass? The Peavey Dyna-Bass has Super Ferrite Pickups.
The serial number is 02808994. I think that it may be a 1994 bass because it ends in 994 for the serial number.
Do you think that this may be a correct assumption? Thank you mates. Click to expand.Me thinks tw is just being facetious. He tried two seperate topics on how much he hated the new bass; on how bass sucks and guitar is so much better and cooler; and what's his bass worth so he knows what to sell it for, etc etc. Those topics didn't go over very well, as you can imagine.
Now he's sarcastically saying how much he loves it, while hinting at the forbidden question of 'what's it worth' and attempting to poke fun at us for being soooo old. For troll value, he's somewhat entertaining. Click to expand.Actually Mr. Papazita, you couldn't be more wrong.
It isn't that I hated the bass, although at the time I acted like it because I was furious, it is that i was moreso jealous that my brother got a guitar and his getting the guitar was the reason why i got the bass. Thank you for your much needed overanalysis. I listened to some basslines on the net, and I figured that since my bro has a guitar, I could learn both bass and guitar. And I'm not secretly hinting at what its worth, my dad won't let me sell it. He's pretty mad that my mom even considered letting me do that.
